While most Christmas albums have a cloying sweetness to them, Nakai and Eaton managed not only to retain the original feeling of each song but have added their own special magic to create many new arrangements of timeless classics. “Greensleeves,” for instance, is a lovely rendition of the classic piece and Eaton’s delicate, graceful notes add a clarity and sparkle to the familiar melody. “Silent Night” includes a Navajo Chorale and a fitting and gentle close to the album.
